Maria Sharapova Suspended for Two Years
http://learningenglish.voanews.com/a/sharapova-suspended-two-years/3367605.html

普段全然運動をしない私ですが、オリンピックを見て感動をもらい、スポーツの素晴らしさに感化されこの記事を選びました。

★★★summary★★★
Tennis star Maria Sharapova said she will appeal the two-year suspension by the International Tennis Federation, or ITF. The ITF said Sharapova was responsible for failing a test earlier this year for the banned drug known as meldonium. The usual suspension is four years, but the independent panel reduced it to two. In spite of it, she didn’t want to accept an ‘unfairly harsh ‘ two-year suspension.

★★★opinion★★★
I watched Rio de Janeiro Olympic on TV this summer. I was moved by athletes who have practiced so hard for 4 years for this big athletic meet, Olympic.
I personally think that being drug dependent cannot bring them any good instead it will make them looser in the end. Using this drug is definitely unfair to other athletes so there is no point using this at all.

I was surprised at this news about Sharapova and got disappointed at her. She insisted that she didn’t know the drug she used was the same as melodonium. However athletes should know the banned drugs and maintain their health by themselves alone. She doesn’t have enough knowledge and has responsibility for using it. so she has to accept this suspension.
I hope we can watch marvelous games by top athletes from all over the world in Tokyo Olympic 4 years later. I’m looking forward to it.
