Unkind Words Hurt the Brain
今回は英検を意識した賛成反対ではなく、かなりラフに書いてみました。
私の母としての日常を知っていただければと思います^^;

★★★summary★★★

Unkind words can hurt children just as much as being physically hit, sometimes even more.
A recent study of middle school children showed that verbal abuse by other children can harm development in the brain.
Children has to be praised, appreciated and recognized for them to become better people.

★★★opinion★★★

This article really got my attention since have a 1 year old and 4 year old daughter.
As I talk to them I make it sure not to use unkind and rude words like baka or maji.
Moreover, I have come to realize that I rarely pay attention in praising, appreciating and recognizing them since I am only using these expressions whenever they are successful on something.
So then, I have to give my compliments like ‘You make me smile’ or ‘I’m proud of you.’ more and more not only on special situations but everytime its necessary.

I practiced saying 20 statements in the article with Eunice, our new teacher in the class.
She said to me ‘Please read them as a mom!’ So I’m ready to use them.
But I don’t have enough chance to tell them because they always make me angry with their tricks or quarrels!!
I want to keep calm and will say the statements as soon as possible. maybe tomorrow night in the bed. I hope so.

追伸:書いたものを読み返して、私は心に余裕がないんだなと痛感しました。。。反省 心に余裕のある子育て!目指したいです。。。
